I am interested in the fundamental cellular systems that produce and respond to long distance signals in plants. Such hormonal signals control organ development and polar growth patterns, and integrate environmental signals, which together control overall plant architecture. I am currently working on strigolactones, a new class of plant hormone that was discovered through plant cells and tissues. A deeper knowledge of these plant signalling systems will lead to improved productivity in plant industries.
